In the JKM Studio, having fun on the job is pretty much a prerequisite. Studies show it staves off the onset of insanity. But, there’s little need to inform Stephanie of this – anyone who’s worked with her will attest that this comes quite naturally. Studying at Dalhousie University in Halifax likely helped to foster these intangibles, as well. But, the quest to fulfill her artistic endeavours guided her to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and then finally to the International Academy of Art and Design – collecting a degree in Graphic Design. Having maxed out the education avenues, it was time to get to work. And work she did. Steph got her start in the bustling Cossette studio – working like mad on blue-chip brands like McDonald’s, Bell and GM. Her next taste of insanity took place at MacLaren McCann, where she buzzed tirelessly on Nestle, AstraZeneca and Wyeth pharmaceuticals and healthcare accounts. Feeling satisfied in her ability to perform in labour camp settings, she brought her immense skill set to JAN Kelley. She routinely provides our clients with brilliant design work while laughing in the face of intensity and panic. (If you put your ear to the screen, you might hear her giggling at a coworker’s antics/ misfortunes right now!) And, if for some reason, her personality can’t turn someone’s frown upside down, well, she can always rely on her skills as a certified make-up artist.
